A child who has suffered long-term sexual abuse usually develops low self-esteem, feelings of worthlessness, and an abnormal or distorted view of sex.
 Adults are responsible for preventing child sexual abuse by addressing any concerning or questionable behavior that might pose a risk to the child’s safety.

Experts report that 95% of Child Sexual Abuse cases go unreported. The majority of child sexual abuse occurs over a period of time and not during a single incident. A child who has suffered long-term sexual abuse usually develops low self-esteem, feelings of worthlessness, and an abnormal or distorted view of sex. Children who do not live with both of their parents, as well as children whose households are marked by parental conflicts, divorce, or domestic violence, are at a greater risk of being sexually abused.
